Interior design trends change each year. Sometimes, a new trend comes in the middle of the year. If your home’s interior design has remained unchanged for years, it’s time for a fresh start. Your home needs a makeover.

The smallest change can make your home look drastically different, but in a good way, of course. We decided to bring you a few interior design trends for the kitchen that captured our eye, and they might capture yours too.

Kitchens

Two-tone kitchens

Two-tone kitchens are so last-season. Three-tone kitchens are all the rage now. In a two-tone-kitchen, the upper and lower cabinets are two different colors, or the perimeter cabinets and the island are two different colors.

Three-tone cabinets

In a three-tone kitchen, you add a different material or color to the mix. In addition to having different colored upper and lower cabinets, you now have another color, hence, making it a three-tone kitchen. The third material or color will create an asymmetry. It’ll create zones or functions while keeping your eyes moving from one color to another.

Refaced Cabinets

Replace the door fronts and the drawer, but keep the cabinet boxes to create refaced cabinets. Refaced cabinets can enhance the look of your kitchen dramatically without costing you a lot of money. This is an affordable fix that homeowners should definitely try.

Blue Cabinets

If you’re going with a three-tone kitchen theme, we suggest one of the colors being blue. We know having blue kitchen cabinets is a little unconventional, but it’s surely a very eye-catching addition to your kitchen.

You can combine shades of blue with black. If a blue and black theme is too dark for you, balance it out with lighter shades such as warm whites. Using warm whites will give your kitchen a crisp and clean look.

Walnut Wood Cabinets

Walnut is a type of wood that has become a favorite among interior designers, including homeowners. Walnut is a warm and inviting wood. You can combine them with brass, blues, whites, and grays. For the contemporary kitchen, these are the most popular colors to use. Show off your beautiful wood cabinets by adding large windows.

Soft-toned Kitchen

Bright and bold colors are no longer trending in the world of interior design for kitchens. Instead, homeowners are opting for creating a soft-toned kitchen. You can design a soft-toned kitchen by adding soft satin-brass fixtures, quartzite countertops, and a light marble backsplash.

On the topic of backsplashes, choose a countertop material. A slab backsplash will eliminate the problems you faced with tile backsplashes. Tile backsplashes led to grout lines, which took forever to clean. When choosing a slab backsplash, choose a material that offers movement and grabs your attention at the same time. There’s also no need to choose a slab backsplash that complements your countertop. View the slab backsplash as abstract art.
